VispoRM integration

GeoSim can be used together with Kongsberg SIM Vispo3D® Reservoir Management (abbreviated to VispoRM in this guide, and elsewhere in the simulator).

Import of VispoRM scenes in GeoSim

Field work and field courses are aimed at improving the geoscientists understanding of the sub-surface - using real landscapes various places as an analoque. VispoRM can import 3d models exported from various applications, including Roxar Irap RMS and DecisionSpace. The datatypes include seismic lines, seismic horizons, geological structure maps, wells and faults. VispoRM can also import horizons and well paths directly from OpenWorks.

Please follow this short tutorial to learn how to import and use VispoRM scenes in GeoSim:

Step I - Export scene from VispoRM version 4

The scene can be exported for viewing in another program by clicking on Tools and Export Scene. A screenshot of the current scene will be shown in the export window. When Export Scene button is clicked data is being prepared to be exported. When this is done, the user can drag the screenshot to the desired target program to read the data. The target program can be GeoSim or the desktop. GeoSim will automatically read the scene when dropped inside. When dropping the scene on the desktop a file will be created with all the files from the scene. This file can be used to share with other people by sending it as an attachment on e-mails.

Hint: If the model is not visible in GeoSim after dragging the scene to it, it may be because it is behind another model in GeoSim. Try moving the imported scene more up to make it visible.

Step III - Use imported scene in GeoSim

Right-clicking on an imported VispoRM scene, or on the title of the scene in the resource panel, will open a menu. This is the menu options that appear as well as a short description of each option:
